iPad 2 disconnecting from Skype when 'never' is checked

iPad 2 IOS 4.3.2 using home wifi

I have checked 'never' in disconnect settings for Skype, but it disconnects after

random lengths of time, always less than one hour.

Have reinstalled the Skype app and it did not help.

Have seen other users with a similar problem, is it Skype or is it the iPad.

Don't seem to have the problem on 4th gen iPod touch.
