I have had my macbook pro since late may of 2010, but I recently noticed it has not been remembering the day I saved files. It claims that every file was saved, or last opened on 5/1/2010. How can I make it so my computer remembers the dates of when everything was saved?

Is the clock showing the correct time. Check in System preferences > Date & Time to see how you have this set up. It may be that you are connecting (or trying to connect) to an online time server that is not right. Do you have to reset the time? Also, are you having any problems with the battery? I am not sure if this MacBook Pro has a separate battery for the clock, but if that were defective that may cause symptoms like this.
Weird. What about when you start up the next day (and do you shut down or put the computer to sleep)? Is the date/time correct? If so, my guess is that when shut down/sleeping there is no internet connection and for some reason OS X is not maintaining the time. Try first switching the time from automatic (internet) to manual. See if that changes things.
It is everything from all my iwork documents, to when my skype displays its call history. And they have the correct date the day they are saved, but when it becomes the next day it switches to 5/1/2010
That may have solved it, but it has not cured it. I would still think about having this checked, particularly concerning the battery as it is losing something (or time is not being maintained) for some reason. My thanks for the tick: my first with the new format.
The date and time are correct, and the online time server is the apple one, and it appears to be correct. My battery has been fine. Never had a problem
Well, I guess they are the first things out of the way, then. Is this one or all applications? Do they save with the right date, then change?
In finder, are you looking at date created, or the date modified column?
