I see the same thing , its eating 50-60% of cpu, downloading Lion. Definitely a bug no reason a download encrypted or other should do that.

same here - seems to depend on your network speed. Maybe some on-the-fly decrpyting during download?

I checked storeagents open files.. There nothing much going on there.. I would say this is a bug..

Same issue - stops when downloading completes. Seems identical to the iOS App Store issue which stalls iOS devices when downloading apps.

Probably some extremely inefficient decompression code. A normal decompression algorithm should be almost unnoticable. Downloading should be IO bound, not CPU bound.

I'm certian this is related to the speed of the connection (On the fly decryption, whatever...) as I'm sat on 1Gb link with zero contention and it (storeagent) makes my machine completely unuseable as all the cores are basically pegged to 100%.
