Hi Martin
Test out ClamXav before you spend a dine on something that you really don't need.
Like many others I use nothing on my iMac and only use ClamXav to check file's on external drives that I share with windoz systums PC's.

No, it's not. As of right now, there are no real malware/spyware threats to OS X. There are articles out there that claim there are, but those are generally written by the publishers of antivirus software in order to scare potential customers.
Running software like ESET Cybersecurity will only make your machine run slower, as it uses up resources to "keep you safe" from things that don't exist.
I do. We installed ESET Cybersecurity to our Mac Server, now we were blocked from Wiki. I choosed default install, not sure why I received the Proxy Error. I may have to uninstall it. Any ideas? Thanks
To add to everyone else's great suggestions, here is an excellent article to read:
We are having ESET shoved down our throats here at work. I really don't care if it works or not, just how much performance will suffer. Does anyone have real world experience with this software?
ESET Cybersecurity is not compatible with Mac Server. ESET does not provide any security products for Mac Server at this time.
