There is no iphone 5 and as has been explained twice, you CANNOT upgrade without a computer.

Was your backup copy of your computer hacked as well?

If no, then use your backup copy to put everything on you new computer or back on your old computer.

No you cannot update without a computer; and since your computer was hacked I suggest you use another computer to update it. Though if you do not want to lose your purchases: music, videos, apps,etc...you can transfer them from your iPhone to the other computer before you sync it with iTunes. This will NOT work with non-purchases from iTunes, Appstore, or iBooks.

Welll. The iphone 5 is coming out either this year or next. When they came out with 3g. They had already made 3gs. And wheb they brouht out 3gs they had already made the iphone 4. So they must have the iphone 5. And im pretty sure they would be smart enough to add the function on it.

I cant use another computer because i dont have one. And o dont have $600 laying around. Sorry

No, just for syncing, and backing up. I know people (sadly) who have never attached their iPhone to their computer. Not a great thing, but not unusuable, as you state.

Not un-useable, but absolutely a basic requirement. From the tech specs:

"

Mac system requirements

  • Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
  • Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
  • iTunes 10.1 or later (free download fromwww.itunes.com/download)
  • iTunes Store account
  • Internet access

Windows system requirements

  • PC with USB 2.0 port
  • Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
  • iTunes 10.1 or later (free download fromwww.itunes.com/download)
  • iTunes Store account
  • Internet access"

These are the REQUIREMENTS to use the iphone as it is designed and intended.

You can use it without a computer, but you cannot use it as designed and intended.

I don't see Apple providing OTA (over the air) syncing anytime soon, not to mention firmware upgrades. That would remove the need for a computer, which I don't see being implemented anytime soon.

BTW... in case anyone missed it, they are providing OTA and delta updates as well!! Later this year (rumored September) when they release iOS5, which was previewed at WWDC 2011
