It baffles me how Apple can get so many things so right, and then slip up on trivial things such as this. It's quite easy to change you username on other forums so why do Apple think it's so different.
If I create a new id so that I can change my username on here does that mean I'm going to still have to use all my old details for itunes and apple store account?
You may be able to change the other Apple i.d.s. I don't know about that. If you can change the other i.d.s, you could change them to the new one you need for here. I do know that you can't change the Apple i.d. you use for Apple Support Communities. The only way to change it here is to start over with a new account. This doesn't have much to do with Apple. It is the fault of the software used for Apple Support Communities (Jive).
I have let the Hosts know of the further "Me Too" posts in this thread.
I can see that the one from April 24th by the account now showing as "Penx" does appear to have been changed as it no longer seems to show a "real" name.
I have specifically told them of yours as it is posted on the 15th (Today where I am, at the time of my post)
