You have two options.

1) When you are on a call, you can select "Facetime" from the six menu boxes to initiate a Facetime request. Providing that the other user has an iPhone 4, you will initiate the video call.

2) When in Contacts, you can select the contact and one of the four options at the bottom of the card will be "Facetime." So long as the phone number / email address is associated with a Facetime capable device, it will initate the video call.

Hi Vanya,

First off, there are a couple of things you should make sure of before attempting to use FaceTime.

  • Are you connected to a Wifi network (Cellular data will not work with FaceTime)
  • Have you enabled FaceTime in Settings > Phone?

If you have met both of these conditions, you should have no problems using FaceTime.

To start a FaceTime call, you can click the FaceTime button in a contact, and if they also have met these conditions (iPhone 4 or iPod touch, Wireless network and FaceTime enabled), you should be up and FaceTiming in no time.

You can also activate it if you're in the middle of a call, by taking the phone away from your face and clicking FaceTime, it will work if both you and the person you're calling meet the conditions stated above.

Hope this helps!
