Well, I prefer doing my "social networking" in person - what a novel (or old-fashioned) idea !
I'm the same (can't be that old fashioned) if someone can't pick up a phone talk to me properly then what's the point?. This may sound a bit contradictory as i'm studying Computer Science... but that's the way I am.
Fro what I gathered, one the 'like' feature is enabled, your name will pop up everywhere "the most popular posters" - never mind what you said or whether or not that topic is of interest to me: You are the man (or woman)!!!
That's exactly how I see it. The most popular posters are irrelevant in a tech forum (as someone said before). To the people coming here to have a problem solved the most important poster to them is the person who helps them solve their problem or points them in a direction which leads to a solution.
Just what was wrong with it in the first place?
Too simple and straight forward, I suspose.
Looks like a case of "it's not broken, but let's fix it anyway".
Reminds me of many manuals written that no one else can understand.
Every time I come to the new format I feel like I'm lost in space.
I look at my previous history and it's a disaster. Useless, at best.
No longer a pleasant experience.
