Is there a tool like the "Snip" Tool available for Windows 2007?

Hi: Sure is, try this: For a full screen capture, use the Command, Shift and 3 keys. For a selectable screen capture, use Command, Shift and 4 keys.

Not exactly like the snip tool, but have you tried cmd-shift 4

It takes a screen capture of whatever you select in the marque and place a png on your desktop.

If you push the spacebar while the marque is up it will take a shot of the selected window.

If you give more clarification as to what you are trying to accomplish it would help.

I merely added that there is an app, which by the way handly sits on the safari menu bar 🙂 very easy to use and a great wee app. Go on download it 🙂 Csound1

No thanks, I gave up cluttering up my Macs with apps that duplicate the OSX system or (each other ) a long time ago.

The Windows question is irrelevant here. And FYI the app offers greater functionality than the limited native options on the Mac (which you would've realized if you had bothered to take a look before posting such snide comments).

If the Mac snob got off his high horse for a while, he could actually be helpful and inform the OP the Grab tool pretty much does the same thing as the Snipping Tool. It is located in /Applications/Utilities...or maybe he didn't know that.

Wow, so the Mac has 2 tools for screenshots, I would never have discovered that without your help.

Makes adding 3rd party apps even more redundant, don't you think?
