Yes I have a similar issue.
My first iPhone 6 plus 128GB lasted 8 months from new before developing a bluetooth problem. Apple replaced it. The replacement has now developed a touchscreen issue again after only 8 months rendering the phone totally useless. The phone is in mint condition but the only option Apple will give me is to purchase a replacement phone for £290. They refuse to lift the screen to check if there is a connection issue even though I have said I take full responsibility if doing it causes other problems.
The Apple Store have failed to respond to my latest email. Appalling customer service! The richest company in the world now intent on squeezing every last penny out of their customers.
I have been a supporter of Apple products for at least 30 years and during Steve Jobs reign everything was great including customer service.
How quickly things change.
Goodbye Apple Hello Android
Do people even bother to check their warranty? Apple is doing EXACTLY as it promised it would and as you agreed to when you purchased it. Your iPhone had a ONE YEAR limited manufacturers warranty. The first repair was apparently a warranty repair, and thus the replacement device would have continued the original warranty or come with 90 days coverage, whichever was longer. Now, you are completely out of warranty, so your ONLY option is an out of warranty replacement for the price you were quoted. Apple has NEVER offered in-house repairs of parts and such (other than, recently, screen repairs on certain models). Their standard operating procedure has always been to replace units with fully OEM factory refurbished units In lieu of in-store repairs.
The service offered to you was exactly what you are entitled to and follows the normal out of warranty service from Apple. It has been that way for years - you may even be surprised to know it was exactly that way even while under Mr. Jobs leadership. Nothing has changed. The out of warranty fee would have given you a service unit that would have been indistinguishable from new, and for a fee much less than actually buying a new replacement. It would also have included a 90 day warranty on the replacement unit. This is, and always has been, Apple's standard operating model for out of warranty iPhone service.
