Q: FREE iphone replacement

AMAZING DAY. Dropped my iphone 4 today and shattered the screen.  FREAKED out, went straight to the apple store. Walked in, and talked with a person that greeted me.  They told me it would be $200 for the replacement phone.  Told him what happened, and how i bought the phone full retail price, and i don't have any money and that it was my only phone.  I then sit down at a comp, and another lady that works there commented on my broken screen, so i told her my story, and she told me to make a genius bar appointment.  I made one for an hour later.  Sat there surfing the web, my name got called, and i told the tech what happened, and that i haev no money and really want a new phone, and after reading reviews, i saw that sometimes they replace the phone for free, a "one time" thing.  He said well today is your lucky day too, and then walked out with a brand new phone for me free of charge!!!!

YAY me! Good luck for anyone else who this happens to .  Just be honest and you should be fine

Under UK Consumer Law a product must be fit for purpose.

Both the iPhones I received were clearly not.

The geniuses are either not being informed of the Consumer Rights Act or for some reason they are not making consumers aware.

This surely needs to be addressed.

Then hire a lawyer and have at it. It's up to you to prove your claim or accusation they were not "fit for purpose", whatever that means in the contex of a consumer smart cellular telephone?  Although I'm quite certain that no court will consider "fit for purpose" as equaling a total inability for a device to break or fail.

I've owned cars that needed more than two repairs over 16 months. Are those automobiles not "fit for purpose" as motor vehicles?
