Q: iCal preferences function does not open

Can get preferences to come up and can't add anything calendar.  Is my option re-installing iCal?

New to Mac and unfamiliar - guidance please.

Thanks.

    Frank,

    Welcome to Mac!

Go to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences folder, find the com.apple.iCal.plist file and delete the file. Log out/in or restart and open iCal.

    Let us know what happens.

    Fred,

    Thanks for the advise.

I gave it a shot.  Found the file, deleted and restarted but unfortunately did not work.  I did something with importing MS Outlook file to iCal and it screwed it up.  I actually get reminders popped up with no content/description but I don't see them anywhere at all.  My Mac is sync with iPad - maybe that's where the reminder comes from.

    Frank,

Open your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars folder and delete any files with "Calendar Cache" as a part of the file name. Log out/in or restart and then try to open iCal.
