Do not need the http:// in the "insert link" format option

Maybe the Powers That Be can change this detail. Whenever you copy a link from a address bar (or wherever,) the http://is already attached.

Ever time I go to post a link here I first have to delete or it ends up broken

http://http://www.site.com

I have yet to manually type in link address saving time by this inclusion.

Lets make it easier on a practical level.

I am also not clear on how to comment out \http://\ so it is not a bogus link?

Hi

The http:// is already hi-lighted when you open the attach window, so all you would need to do is just paste over it, without clicking first.

I've tried it several different ways and I always have to delete the first 'http'.

I see similar behavior in other Forums, such as the Hewlett-Packard Consumer Support Forum. You have to omit the http:// when copying a link or delete the extra one afterwards. I assume its a feature of the software?

If you hit command-A just before you paste with command-V, it will first select the initial "http://", which will then be completely replaced by the pasted URL. It's very fast this way, but I agree that the initial "http://" still shouldn't be there.
