Hey

Are you getting any errors?

Are you using iPad, iPhone, Mac?

Has FaceTime worked on this device in the past for you?

Usually the issue is with AppleID, Your device or your network (see this article)

Please reply back more info

If you changed your password, and that stopped it working, you might like to try this idea, that worked for me, after nothing else would.

::Log out and back in to iTunes on your Mac/PC.

I had exactly the same problems as above, and no amount of network changes or even a full restore would help.

Finally, I went back to my PC, launched iTunes, logged OUT of that, then signed in again, this time with the new password.

Then I had to go back, and properly close Facetime and iMessages and sign in. It worked fine after that.

(To properly close an application, double click the home button, then hold down on the facetime app logo in the multitasking bar at the bottom, then press the tiny ➖ symbol.)

Best of luck.

This is the solution.

The existing single DNS server address was apparently not sufficient. The multiple DNS settings on the router were apparently not sufficient.

So WHY IN &%$^s NAME does the error message read "please check your network connection and try again." after also offering me the REALLY unhelpful advice that my credentials were wrong?

This is Microsoft level poor coding. How would anyone figure this out without going to a forum? Especially when the application is telling you to go look for a different problem?

Just awful.

I have had a similar problem and followed all the advice unsuccessfully. However, I got it working by turning time zone to Automatic and the DNS to Google (8.8.8.8.4.4). This did not work, but was I place when I tried logging into FaceTime and Message using the alternative (@icloud.com) email address, which not only let me logged in but allowed me to use the primary Apple ID email address.

Let me know if this works for you please.
