How can I avoid mobile version websites in Ipad 2?

I have an ipad 2, which have been using it from the past several weeks. I have bought this ipad for my internet usage. I am regular internet user and for that I needed a portable surfing device with good stability. There was no problem in browsing with this device till last update of iOS. Today I turn on the ipad and connected to the internet. When I was browsing, I went into one particular site. But it has opened a mobile version of page. I couldn’t able to switch to the pc version. By default now my ipad is opening the mobile version website. I don’t know how to turn off this feature. Can anyone help me?

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.2

With Safari you can't, but there are other web browsers available in the store which should work e.g. Atomic Web (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/atomic-web-browser-fullscreen/id347929410?mt=8) whose description says :

✔ IDENTIFY AS: Safari Desktop, IE, Firefox

Atomic Web Browser has the ability to spoof the UserAgent string to trick web sites into thinking the browser comes from a desktop computer. TIP: Set Identify Browser to Desktop Safari to avoid mobile versions of websites

I am suffering a similar problem. I use original iPad (iPad 1.0? - version 4.3.3 [8J3]) and my problem is the google.com search homepage. It seems google are now serving a mobile version of google.com and the screen is cutting-off part of the google graphic, all works ok but it looks bad... when you say "Usually somewhere on the mobile verison, there is a link to go to the full version" are you saying there is facility on IOS Safari to spoof and have sites recognize browser as Safari desktop?

This would solve my problem

Follow-Up Question

To enable browser spoofing and have it identify self as Safari desktop would I need the full Atomic web browser or does the Lite-Version support this feature?

Appreciated, thx

The "Usually somewhere on the mobile verison, there is a link to go to the full version" means that there is normally something on the webpage/site itself that allows you to switch from the mobile version to the full version. There is no global setting for Safari on the iPad to identify it as a full browser.

Atomic Web lite does not have the identify option, only the full version does.

In terms of Google cutting off part of the graphic, that seems to be happening on some country's versions (e.g. Croatia : google.hr ; Australia : google.com.au) but not all (e.g. Canada : google.ca ; UK : google.co.uk)

Thx. I guess I was asking more out of hope! - I cannot be alone in wishing Apple would add the feature

Thx for informing me further about Atomic, I guess I will have to give these folks my 99¢

I have been reading-up about the graphic anomaly thing, I simply use google.com and it is a problem for me, maybe google will sort this out, I am not too bothered about the different display of results etc., just so long as the results are the same - it is the poor rendering of the graphic that I do not like. I use iPad to show clients sites etc. so it kinda reflects if you know what I mean

Anyway, short of google sorting this out, or Apple adding a general spoofing feature... Atomic here I come!

Thx again.
