My 3rd generation Ipod touch has no wifi anymore. It is greyed out and you cannot click it. there is no apple store close. can anyone help?

I would do an iPod touch firmware update or a complete restore to factory settings. What firmware do you have on your iPod touch??
Since you do not know the passcode you have to place the iPod in recovery modes. For recovery mode see:

Unless the unknown passcode is NOT in the backup you can't restore from backup.
I just got a complete update to the ipod last nite, new version, etc. I have already did a complete restore as well. Not fun at all! I am not sure what firmware it is but it is the newest one. I am hooked up to itunes as we speak. Is there a way to find out what version? thank you.

How would I downgrade? I have never had any problem before with this, it is out of warranty, and I would take it to someone but I dont know where to take it! Thank you all for your help!

If you do that, your will be erased.
put it on airpane mode and close anyapplication that youre using till the phone switch's off compleley.then charge it up till its full and your wifi is fixed....thats how i fixed mine. Good luck

I managed to fix my greyed out wifi by putting it in the freezer.
