i'm getting issue "3220"

When I try to uninstall my itunes I keep getting issue 3220

What does this mean?

I'm also uninstalling it because I can't install it. And when I try to remove it via control panel it says I must be running as system administrator and I have no idea how to do so. I'm using Windows 7 Home Edition 64 bit.

🙂 No problem! I should have thought "perhaps it's actually a 2330?" myself (because it's more common in this context).

It's consistent with disk/file damage. So let's first try running a chkdsk over your C drive. There's Windows 7 instructions in the following document. Select both "automatically fix file system errors" and "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you choose to go about things). You should be prompted to schedule the scan to run on restart. That sort of scan of the C drive should take a long time ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan:

Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, does an itunes uninstall/reinstall go through properly this time?
