Q: Can one metadata lun have two separate volumes

I am using Xsan 2.1 with Promise VTrak E610f (16 bay) and planing to expand the storage with SAS-connected Expansion Chassis . Is it possible to USE existing metadata LUN for creating a separate/New volume using Expansion chassis.

Each volume needs it's own metadata LUN.  It would also be good to host Volume 2 on a different primary metadata controller. If you have two MDCs already, you can re-use them, just reverse the fail-over priority for Volume 2; use your primary MDC as your back-up and your back-up MDC as your primary.  That way each of your volumes is hosted on its own Primary MDC, and still has a back-up MDC available if a controller goes down.
