My iPhone 3GS is 15 months old. It has just started dropping the Wi-fi signal and not finding new Wi-fi signals, unless I am only a few feet from the hub. I have restored the phone to no avail.

Took the iPhone 3GS to the Genius Bar at Apple Store, Union Square in Aberdeen. Tests showed nothing wrong with the software or wi-fi aerial. The only solution, therefore, was a replacement.
Did you get a free replacement? Jolly good. My friend could connect to any wifi, except BT Openzone hotspots with his 3GS (mine works fine), the login page wouldn't load. After much to-ing and fro-ing between Orange and Apple, he got a replacement phone - with the exact same issue. Ah well, only another 9 months till the contract's up.
Free? No, the phone is out of warranty by three months, but I was offered a replacement at what I thought was a reasonable cost.
