Why can't I remove a movie from iTunes

In iTunes, a movie is greyed out, so I can't remove it from my library, or remove the check box to stop it from syncing on to my iPhone. Is there a way to either get the box unchecked? Or, is there a way to manually remove movies from iPhone4's without using iTunes?

iPhone 4, iOS 4.3.2

Hi, I've been struggling as well with how to delete unsynced movies from my iTunes Movies library. Here is what I have when I connect my iPhone 5:

User uploaded file

As you can see there, the movies are unchecked so they're not saved/synced to my iPhone. However I don't want them listed in my iTunes library as well because it looks so cluttered and it confuses me when I organize my videos.

None of the suggestions I saw in other threads work (like right-clicking on the movie then pressing delete, or selecting the movie, clicking edit then delete). There is literally no way for me to select the movie...all it does when I click on it is check/uncheck the little box, and hitting delete doesn't work.

Help please! It's very irritating how something as simple as this is made to be complicated. Thanks!

You can't remove it from your iPhone, but you could find the movie in the iTunes-folder on your computer. If you are using a mac, that should be in the music folder in your home-folder. If you remove it from the iTunes-folder, it should disappear from your iTunes library when you restart iTunes. If you sync your iPhone after that, it should be removed from your iPhone.

Thanks for such a prompt reply!

I figured it out. I needed to remove the check box in "Automatically include". When doing so, the greyed out movie (which is in the movies folder) becomes available to modify, and the check box can then be removed. Thanks for responding though!
