how to open drive drawer with new keyboard

Question

how to open drive drawer with new keyboard

I have an old eMac and a newer keyboard. I can't open the drawer to insert a CD...Any help on this? The usual button on the new keyboard won't open it.

Try this:

Navigate to System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras > Eject.menu

Double-click the Eject.menu item. You should have a new item in the top menu bar to the right.

You can, also, try holding down the F12 Key.

That,usually, opens and closes the drive tray, too!

With certain keyboard/OS/Mac model combos, you have to hold the eject key longer, like a half-second or more, to get a reaction.
