Does anyone know where I can get an old Kindle app for my 2nd gen iPod Touch? I have a perfectly good iPod that still works (and still syncs) except that although I was careful not to update my apps from iTunes, but from my iPod itself, I still ended up with an updated Kindle app and now it won't work on my iPod. I talked with the Kindle troubleshooting rep from Amazon and she said she thought there was a way to get our old apps back from iTunes when this happens. However, from the looks of this forum, I'm SOL?

If you still had the old app stored in iTunes or had a backup that would be the way to restore it

Why does my 5 year old iPod work better and more efficiently than my iPhone 4S or my iPad? I haven't updated in 2 years & it's tremendous. However my phone & iPad are getting ditched. ****** performance appears the acceptable norm with Apple now!

Look at vintapps in the app store.  Loads of free apps for the older devices.

I am thoughly '******' for my son has a 2nd generation iPod Touch and it works perfect, however Itunes decided to go haywire and deleted ALL his apps and when he tries to install something as simple as free checkers, it wont work for it says it needs iOS  4.3.  This is nuts for it the same program(s) that he had before and all of a sudden I can't download them on the Itouch or though Itunes on the PC??

This has to be 'wrong' for we are not talking about state of the art applications.

    Mike

The REAL issue is Apple should make available all the old versions of app software on apps the customers purchased. I'm sorry, but I have been an Apple good customer for many years, but this issue is being skewed by Apple. The issue is not support, but deception. One of my early purchases was an iPod touch, 2nd gen. I used several apps, one example was Tunein radio. (Some were "free", some purchased). I periodically received notices about "updates" to these Apps. The problem was after updating, the App could not function. If I never updated the App, I could continue to use the products I purchased, no opition of going back to an older version of the App. Apple is using "support" as a Red Herring issue. I still have an old PC I purchased in 2000, running Word from 2000. I can still read and write Word documents. I know neither the machine, nor Windows XP is under warranty, but all the software I purchased "WORKS".

It's the user's responsibility to check requirements and to keep regular backups.

Right.  Just like it is the responsiblity of each and every user of all ages and education level to spend time to fully read and understand all parts of the the (currently) 25 page terms and conditions agreement, each time it is periodically updated by Apple's legal team, before they click "Agree" so they can properly use the device they bought.

Thats right, stick up for the multi million dollar organization and pass the blame on the little buyer. By the way, Mr Apple Shill, no warning is given when you receive a notice about an updated app that may cease to work on your "ancient" 3 year old machine.
