Firewall on blocks my Canon MP620 printer - recent problem

This is a recent problem - only about a month or so. If I have my firewall set to ON it won't allow me to print unless I hit "Allow" CanonIJnetwork.bundle every time. If I'm not quick about it (only appears for a couple of seconds), I'm screwed and it won't print. Now I do have my printer set to allow incoming connections for canonijnetworkbundle already and always have. Also have it set to allow incoming connections for the software I am printing from like Word, etc. If I turn OFF my firewall then I have no problem and it prints everytime. Like I said, this is a recent problem. Should I just leave my firewall off? Seems like not such a good idea? Help.

I'm having this same problem, just noticed it Today April 24th. If I miss the Allow button, I have to turn off the Firewall, pause and continue the print queue, wait for the job to print, then turn the Firewall back on.

Canon released a new printer driver on about April 1st which I installed on about April 8th. I suspect they did something wrong and now the Mac doesn't know/remember that Canon has been Allowed and Canon keeps asking with, as I Run Long said, only a few seconds to respond.

Someone with clout - please contact Canon!

We are having the exact same problem with a Canon MP900 from an iMac running 10.6.7. We too would like a solution!

Our workround if we miss the "Allow" window is to open up the printer window from the dock and delete the print job (or jobs). This has the effect of pausing the printer. We then click Resume Printer. Then the job can be sent for printing again and all is well as long the "Allow" button is caught in time. We don't have to switch the Firewall off this way.

This problem has only just arisen (in the last couple of days) and the most recent update (since when the problem has appeared) was the Software Update from Apple for the font issue and iPhoto.
