I found this thread after trying to get a DreamWorks flash website working on my iPad. After reading all the brilliant, yet childish BS here I tried to access the DreamWorks flash website on my Droid and it worked perfectly. So no matter how much market share iOS has, or how loyal Apples fan base is, the simple answer is that my iPad isn't able to do what my Droid can.

And when you finally replace that Droid that will be that as they say. No more Flash on Android. Or didn't you read the news a few days ago.

And by the way, you joined today and this is your first post? In this thread? And you want us to believe you actually have an iPad? Really?

You will find this surprisingly simple. No need to be a hacker just follow some step by step diretions. First in google type IOS flash into the search bar. The first result is IOSFlashVideo in the title. Choose that option. Scroll a couple of times until you get to the middle of the page where it reads "How Can I Try It".

There are 6 steps. Basically what you are going to do is to save a web site as a book mark the make an adjustment to the address string.

I copied the address below for reference.

I found a youtube video on this and tried it. It took less than a minute to make it happen. It took much longer just to write this reply.

Enjoy:

THERE ARE 3 SOLUTIONS

1 PHOTON (APP) streams video from a remote server, alought it is pretty low in fps, it works http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photon-flash-player-browser/id430200224?mt=8

2 SPLASH TOP (STREAMING APP) is higher in fps than photon, but requires a physical computer to use

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/splashtop-2-remote-desktop/id382509315?mt=8

3 ADOBE WALLABY (EXPERMINTAL) converts flash FLA into HTML more info on webpage (link) http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/wallaby/

and for jailbroken ipad 1 users, there is a cydia app called "frash" (IPAD 1 ONLY!!!)

Thanks for the suggestions. I am a brand-new ipad user, and I have been disappointed with my inability to view content on many websites.

I went to the Adobe Wallaby link, but based on the description, I'm still not sure it's what I need. If I download this "experimental technology," does it download as a web browser App? Is it considered jailbreaking? All of a sudden, the errors on most websites are functioning properly? Too good to be true?

What interests me is why, in 2012, there are still so many Flash sites out there.

I don't miss websites that used to use RealPlayer, Quicktime or Windows Media Player as plugins but Flash is still prolofic. Why? Mr Job's open letter against Flash came out over two years ago and whilst a lot (not all) video is now non-Flash, there are still plenty of sites that use it a lot and are thus inaccessible on iPad. Too many, I would say.

Did Apple misjudge the speed at which Flash would disappear and why is it taking so long?

I believe the writing is finally on the wall for flash now. I see Android 4.1 will no longer support flash either. That would have been about the last breath of air that could be put into it. HTML5 has only gained momentum lately. With neither mobile OS having flash support and flash to html5 converters improving, this signals the end.
