I love how a bunch of long time apple supporters (level 3,4,5,6,7,8,9 etc... ) can't stand the notion that perhaps Apple may have done something wrong when they decided not to allow Flash on their devices.

The Flash Player works on jailbroken devices; yet, Apple supporters still claim that it's not possible, and it's all because of Adobe? Get real. Adobe has said they would bring out a player for the IPad as soon as Apple said it was Okay; yet, as Apple doesn't want it on their systems, as they don't want competition with their appstore, they have blocked Adobe from doing so.

All of this denial is coming from longtime Apple supporters that are biased, in the minority, and possibly paid trolls imho.

That doesn't take into account that Adobe officially announced the cancellation of Flash development on mobile. Not just for iOS, but on all mobile devices. Looks like no more denial is needed on any side: Flash is dead on mobile, and now you won't get it on an iPad even if Apple itself was asking for it.

All that is true, but some posters are so obsessed with this that the truth does not register, time to ignore arpace or just go along for the amusement value (which wore thin a while back)

Apple said that it's Adobe's fault for making such a slow, buggy format. Please read Apple's statement about their reasons instead of guessing.

Many people including me have installed a Flash blocker on their browsers that block the plugin unless you click on the element you want to load. Why? Because Flash is slow, buggy, outdated, and annoying.

And I am not a biased troll or paid supporter. I killed Flash on my PC long before Apple even complained about it. I got to level 2 because of all the questions I asked about weird things that happen to my computer because it is a release-date lemon (sorry, buying Apple products release-date before 2007 was a horrible idea).

@vasandrew: What you are not understanding is that Adobe has said they will release a version for the ipad if Apple were to okay the issue; for, they have a working copy in house.

@philly_phan: My point is that Apple is hiding from the public that it's possible, and even suitable on the ipad.

Flash works wonderfully well on Android devices, and with the capabilities Adobe has included in this version, halting development until it's financially feasible, aside from bug patches, doesn't really matter.

Adobe has said they are abandoning work on all mobile editions and have laid off workers and shut down the division. I've seen their post where they said that, I've not seen an announcement that they have one that will work on the iPhone but it is a moot point anyway. Why add it now when Adobe is dropping that area.

Apple has not hidden the fact it is possible, you could do lots of things with hacks, like get really substandard video on the iPhone 3G. Doesn't mean that most people would want it.

I am glad that in your opinion Flash works well on Android devices. According to many reviewers the best that can be said about it is that it is mediocre at best, ***** battery life (does that on my MacBook Pro), etc. And Adobe did not say they were halting work until it was financially feasible, they said they are leaving that market period and refocusing their efforts. A recent piece in MacWorld went further to opine that this will also affect Flash in the computer side of the market and we could see that fade to the level of RealPlayer over the next 3 - 5 years. I would agree with that.

Please document that allegation.

What you are not understanding is that if you can produce a dated published statement to that effect, the rest of us will produce a more recent dated published statement that says Adobe simply isn't going to come out with any more mobile Flash versions. Ever. Any version for the iPad must naturally be part of the mobile versions of Flash that Adobe has publicly and summarilly cancelled. On all mobile platforms. In total.

Oh that's funny, you are referencing a piece written by individuals that are obviously bias.

Twisted truth.

They are not giving up development for mobile completely as they continue to improve their capabilities for Compiling Air apps so they work on IOS, and Adobe has publicly stated that Air for mobile devices, including IOS, is still being developed and will continue to remain a priority.

What I think you are forgetting is that apps like google talk, and the VLC media player, both apps that work very well, were blocked for quite some time until a judge advised Apple to broaden the scope of the apps allowed on their devices; thus, this isn't just about the flash player.

What about the fact that Apple still continues to block any activex plugin that would allow you to play music, video, and games in the browser? Again, this isn't just isolated to the Flash player.

Yet, the Flash Player is on over 95% of all systems in the world, and blocking individuals from using on systems they purchased is unfair. Adobe could have a working copy ready to roll in a couple of months; yet, Apple won't allow it.

To answer the original person's question...you know, from the original post... you would have to jailbreak your device, and lose all support, because Apple doesn't want anyone competing with them in their sandbox.
