Itunes crashes when I open it

I have tried with multiple versions of iTunes and the outcome is the same each time. It opens, then crashes immediately without fail every single time.

This is the error report I get each and every time:

I've looked through the forums for solutions to this and the only one I thought might work was https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2791063?answerId=13262551022#13262551022&messageID=13262551&amp%3b#1326255 1 but I spent hours trying to find the file that I apprently needed but could not find it anywhere.

So if anyone could help me with this I'd be truly grateful, thanks

That's a rarer one nowadays. It can indicate disk/file damage on the PC.

I'd try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive, or whichever drive you install your program files on.

There's Vista instructions in the following document.

Check your hard disk for errors

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. You'll probably need to schedule the scan to run on restart. The disk check should take quite a while to run (if you're running it on the C). If it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.

Does the disk check find/repair any damage? If so, are you able to launch iTunes now?
