How do I unlock my iPad screen rotation?

Double tap the home button to bring up the recents tray. Swipe to the right and you will see the screen icon lock on the left. Unlock it and tap the home button again and you are done.

Double-click the home button to bring up the recently used app bar. Scroll all the way to the left end and tap the orientation lock symbol. When the orientation is locked, a padlock will appear.

Before you do the above you need to go to " Settings " icon click on "General" then select "Use side switch to" then select "Mute" a tick appears before Mute then follow the instructions given in the above reply.

Hi I figured out an easy way select Settings - go to general - use side button for - select lock rotation - a tick mark appears - now find the mechanical switch above the volume control button on the body of the I pad then move it up or down to lock or unlock rotation in any direction you want!
