Slide to answer not working randomly

I am very annoyed. I had a 32GB iphone 3GS for almost 2 years, never had any problem

I upgraded to a 32GB Iphone4 about a month ago and generally, at least once a day, since the day I got it "Slide to Answer" will not work and I miss important calls, sitting there like an ******* trying to answer the phone, sliding my finger repeatedly, trying the home button.....It doesn't work no matter what I do - I have to hit the power button (thus losing the call) before it works again.

Sometimes it wont work when I just want to unlock for a txt message or just to use an app....

Most of the time the phone works fine, but this issue usually occurs at least once a day I'd say - but I cannot reproduce it or get it to happen on demand.

I had hoped updates would fix this, but none have. Anybody have any suggestions? I have heard the suggestion about taking it to an Apple store and getting it replaced, but honestly, I find it hard to believe that this is a hardware issue.....

Just to be clear: This is not because people's hands are dry.

This is NOT a user issue.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT YOU DO - whether your hands are moist or dry,whether it is cold or warm, whether the phone is in your pocket or not.YOu can try to swipe the screen 20 times, it will not work.

Once you hit to power button on the top (and miss your call) the screen becomes responsive again...

THIS IS A BUG and that is a fact - and it's one that is happening to a lot of people.

My feeling is that this is either a bug present in the firmware or something in a fairly common app that is causing this....

I've done a soft reset, I've done a hard reset...doesn't matter.

Ihad a 3G for a year, then a 3GS for 2 years...Never had this issue...but since the first day I got my brand new iphone4 5 weeks agoit has been an issue on and off.
