my mail account from yahoo shows mail, calendar and noest but not contacts. How do I retreive them into my ipad2

I am not sold on my first apple experience. Tech support was not much help after spending 1 hour on hold. This Ipad is no where near what I thought it would be. So much for apple products. I think I will stay with windows.
Yes, it's weird and cryptic. This is what you need to do.
in settings, click mail, contacts , calendars
you need to add two accounts:
one for mail as a Yahoo account
another per the instructions below
Yahoo syncs contacts by adding a CardDAV account:
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Tap Add Account
Tap Other and then tap Add CardDAV Account
For the Server you need to enter carddav.address.yahoo.com
Now type in the Yahoo! ID (full email address) and password you use to sign in to your Yahoo! Contacts
why not all in one? who knows!
Ps. You might have to do several tries with and without the .xxx extesion to the account name

Any suggestions on how to save word or excel documents in QuickOffice or Pages so that when you send them to folks w pc's they are able to view and edit the documents? They seem to be all messed up in alignment, especially on the Excel docs.

Hi, it'snot working for me, and I tried several times with and without .com; it stays in veryfing account for a long time, and then it comes back with an error " account couldn't be verified."
What am I doing wrong?

I have thr I pad 3. To sync the yahoo contacts just connect to computer and I tunes. Under info there is a menu. Check yahoo contacts and configure. Very simple and it works. No need for this convoluted approah in th I pad. I pad 3 is awesome!

I have iPad3 too & updated to iOS6. But under info I can't see Yahoo. Only Outlook, Google & Windows. No Yahoo. Is there something I should do?

I did exactly this on my iPad3 wit iOS6. Account was added, but still it does not show any contacts. I am not sure what is happening.
I did not use Lion (in part) because of this issue, and I have not been using Mountain Lion either for the same reason. I stumbled across this thread today, and it appears to have fixed my issue. Thank you so much -- greatly appreciated! Perhpas it may finally be time to upgrade from Snow Leopard.

Absolutely brilliant!! My wife has inherited an Iphone 3g after losing her old Nokia and all her contacts on the SIM.
I had signed her into her Yahoo mail on her phone but no contacts appeared in the contact list.
Yahoo's advice for seeing contacts on the phone was absolutely amazingly complex and misleading..... and didnt work!. Itunes is also totally unhelpul and impossible to navigate for help.
