iTunes Auto Update Check

Hi all,

How often does iTunes automatically check for updates? I have in my preferences it ticked to auto check for an iTunes update but despite being on 10.2.1 and knowing iTunes 10.2.2 is out there it never comes up with that alert box that there is a new version when I launch iTunes. If I check for updates under the help dropdown it does find the update and box pops up. However i'd like the feature to check on it's own to work. I also have the apple software update installed.

Is it maybe tied in with the same time as when the iPhone checks for updates ie. when I sync my iPhone the box says the next check for updates is not due til 29/4/11 (I know I can manually check). Anyone know how often iTunes does it's check. I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version.

Everything works fine, it's just the auto check for updates that I'm not 100% sure on

Sorry, just wondered if anyone has the same issue or an opinion? Apple Software Update prompts the new version but within iTunes I never get a box prompt. How often does iTunes check itself for an update? Will it co-incide with the iPhone software checking for an update on 29/04/11?

The answer to this in case anyone has similar issue. iTunes checks itself for the update weekly. So on mine it did finally pop up advising existence of the update to 10.2.2 on 29th April (same date as when my iPhone 4 advised it would next check for an update).
