I have a 32GB iPad 1st Gen. It sits with a pinwheel rotating, but will not power off. When I tried connecting it to iTunes, it says there is an unknown problem connecting this iPad. What Can I do?

iPad, iOS 4.3.2, 32GB Wifi

I'm sure you've tried the hard reset using the home and power button?  If that won't work, next check your cables.  If you own a iPod, or iPhone and have mixed up the sync cables, that can sometimes cause an issue depending on how old they are.  If that doesn't work, I'd try a different computer with iTunes on it, if you have it, or a buddy to see if it recognized then.

Let us know how it goes.

The hard reset did work. I had to go to the User Manual to remind myself how to perform it. Thank you for the immediate response - bravo!

Glad to hear it worked.  Good luck.
