iPhone 4: I can hear the caller but the caller can't hear me??

It happens after a second or two on the phone the caller can't hear me but I can hear them fine. And sometimes they can hear me but my voice warped or crackly? then when I try to ring them back they can't hear me at all. Anyone else with the same problem???

My husbands first iphone after unplugging a set of headphones was no longer able to hear callers voice.

Was told by Applecare to send back in for another phone. Total inconvenience.

When he got his second iphone the same thing happenend....so I played around and discovered that when you plug a set of headphones in to your iphone then unplug the headphones go back into pandora or whatever playware you are using and after the headphones are unplugged hit the play button and caller voice will come through again. Hope this helps.

Apple needs to work on this.

I am having the same problem also.. All of this started after almost 9 months of normal usage. I think that the only way to temporerly fix is to tap it a little harder over the screen when the problem appears.

I am not sure what could be the permanent solution for me because I live in Serbia where there is no official iPhone seller and I dont have enough free time to go to some other coutry to replace it.

Is there any official mail of Apple service?

I have just started having this issue of the caller not being able hear me. I tried all the recommended steps of reset network settings, restore phone, using handsfree devices, nothing works. Randomly I will get a call and it works perfectly. I have read several of these forums hoping to find a solution but nothing has worked. I think Apple Should be held to replace all Iphones with an Iphone that has this problem. It is obviously a defect. My phone is just out of warranty I found out when I called Apple and they suggested new equipment purchase. These phones are too expesive to purchase every year.

For me the problem occurs on outgoing calls.

The person I am calling can not hear me. I hang up and call again and they can hear me.

Issue occurs randomly approximately 1 out of every 4 calls.

I'm using an iphone 3GS with IOS 4.3.3 installed using Optus network (Australia).

When the issue occurs the person at the other end cannot hear anything no matter how loudly I yell into the microphone. I'm not accidentally putting the phone on mute because it is not indicated on the phone that I have and it does not matter whether I am using the microphone headset or not. I'm getting sick of having to apologise to my customers for my phone not working properly.

I tried replacing my iphone 3GS with another iphone 3GS, restored it from my backup and using my original SIM card. Problem still occurs.

Since replacing the iphone did not resolve the problem it must be related to IOS, SIM card or cell carrier.

Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

every thing else works fine so have to take the sim card out and put in my

old phone for phone calls then re input it for other items I need.
