IP Alias
Not sure if this is the best place to ask this since I don't run Server, but am I able to use IP Alias on a non=server machine (1 ghz G4 with Tiger) or do I need Server version to do this?

IP Aliasing has nothing to do with Mac OS X Server. Any version of Mac OS X can do it. Either use System Preferences to duplicate your interface(s), or use ifconfig at the command line:
ifconfig en0 1.2.3.4 alias
