MacBook Pro doesn't turn on at all

Hello, I am Luixituh, and I am in a terrible situation with my MacBook Pro, the thing is that I have been using it very happily since yesterday I went to use it and I pressed the power button to turn on, but absolutely nothing happened. I tried to check if the battery was dead or not, by pressing the battery status indicator, on the side of the MacBook Pro, it was reported as full, but just to make sure I plugged in the Apple MagSafe charger, it behaved normally until I pressed the power... As you guys know, when you press the power, the fan and HD should start working and the white light in front of the computer should light up, to say it was on, but the thing is that it didn't do any of that nor booted since yesterday, when I found the non-turning on problem...

So these are the symptoms, if you have suggestions feel free to share them, or if not I will just go to the Apple store, thanks in advance for your help, and I hope you know that this impairing my work and that I am really worried about this situation.

The most kind regards:

Dear Luixtuh,

What version of the MBP do you have? The last of the MBPs with silver keys (Late 2007 and Early 2008) have a potential fault with the video chipset that can lead to failures. Please see this Apple Repair Extension Program:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377

If the proper model (applies only to those with the nVidea 8600M GT chipset) and the computer fails a test the Apple Store can perform, you qualify for a free repair for up to four years from date of purchase.

It does not apply to any MBPs that have the newer black keyboard.

As you can see in the end of this post, i did try an SMC reset, but I had no success, because the MagSafe light didn't shut off for a few moments, which means that the SMC reset was not successful... If you could get any solution to reset my SMC, I would be insanely grateful to you 🙂, if you have another solution, please let me know, I am desperate :'(...

Thanks in advance:

I know that, and I followed the proper instructions, I am sure of that... I tried a few times and nothing...

I should say that the computer was accidentally dropped from a very low hight, (center table) and that happened four months ago and I could not notice performance or behavior changes in the computer. Do you thing that even after 4 MONTHS the drop can relate to the problem??

Hello everyone, I have an update for all of you...

I went to an Apple Authorized Repair Center, they were super fine for me, and the problem revealed to be the MacBook Pro's Logic Board, which was replaced for me. I loved the experience and I know what Apple Support is made of, once again Apple met my expectations and was at the excellence standards...

The most kind regards to everyone:
