How do I clean up/remove apps in my App Store?

I hope some support personnel get to read this post....

I would like to uninstall some apps I have downloaded via the App Store in the past that I don't use anymore (especially the free ones)

but I can't seem to find any "UNINSTALL" or "REMOVE/DELETE" button in the purchases tab. I hope to see this button

in the coming updates because it will really help a lot in de-cluttering my purchases.

The OP wants to remove apps, (mostly free ones, that he previously purchased, tried, disliked and has since deleted from his Mac,) from the MAS Purchases page.

Have you discovered a way to remove deleted apps from the MAS Purchases page? I have not seen a way to do so. I would love to get rid of the damnable Twitter app from my Purchases page. I deleted it from my Mac the day after I downloaded it.

Hi guys...

I think FishComputer is right! This thread is insolvable at the moment because all of us have the same problem with MAS. I just hope OS X Lion has a cool update for this....

Laurie, I am not seeking help on how to remove apps or programs from my Mac. I can simply drag them to the trashbin or have MacKeeper do it for me. This thread is about the Mac Apple Store (MAS) and how downloaded apps can be permanently removed from its interface...or rather from its "Purchases" tab. Got it?

Thanks for all your help guys! 🙂

I just found out that u can at least hide it by sliding your finger to the the right and it will say hide, that will hide your memory that u dont want to be seen it will never show as if you purchased it. but it will still be on your account on the computer but not on your ipod or ipad. the way to fully get rid of it is if you do the first step i listed then fo onto your computer go to itunes and go to app store go to your purchase and delete it fully from there. thats how u do it. i hope this helps someone ;)

This thread has nothing to do with iPods and iPads!

This is the Mac App Store forum, apps for Macs. When this thread was started, the ability to hide purchases did not exist. Just becasue you are looking for a way to get points, raising old long dead threads and posting information that does not apply is not the way to do it. Educate yourself before posting.

be nice:

Do a search for the problem, and it brings you here. App Store is App Store, no matter what device or OS. foolycooly provided what I needed to clean up some family machines that had a major clutter problem due to tried and discarded stuff. (Except I had to slide the finger in the opposite direction -- IOS changes or prefs difference?) --- and it has been the ONLY answer that provided any kind of solution that I have found to date.

Also lead to my finding the solution to the same problem on the Yosemite App Store --- you can Control-Click (or right-click) an "Install" item and hide it.
