Thanks, I have two flat-screen TVs, one with a HD box from Time Warner Cable and the other without, but HD-compatible. In order to use the Apple Digital AV Adapter, will I need to already have or purchase special cables to connect from the Adapter to the TV? (I have lots of miscellaneous cables, so I may already have what I need -- for example, the cables to connect my Sony camcorder to the TV.)

Thanks Julian. What exactly is "mirroring"? I ask because the comments I've read this morning about the adapter and cable connection say that Ipad2 can "mirror" (the image of the Ipad2 on the HDTV) but that mirroring is not possible for the original Ipad, which my wife has. Nevertheless, apparently the original Ipad can be connected to the TV, according to comments. Is "mirroring" a matter of the fidelity of the image to that shown on the Ipad or Ipad2?

Air Play is on your iPad when you see video on your iPad and you have apple tv you can stop your video on your apple tv an can click on a button and click on apple tv and then you can see your video on your tv! Or you will do a presentation on your tv you need hdmi and a adapter when you have a iPad 2 !
