Apple USB Modem driver for Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 on the boot camp partition. After running Boot Camp software update 3.2, all the windows drivers loaded except for the Apple USB modem. Does boot camp v3.2 support the Apple USB modem in windows 7?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Hi,

According to the Apple USB Modem FAQ, the "Apple USB Modem is not supported on computers running any version of the Microsoft Windows operating system".

If necessary, you could perhaps try a third-party USB modem with support for both platforms.

I too read the Apple FAQ before posting the question. The reason I asked the question is because I had Windows XP Pro installed using an earlier version of bootcamp. In this case bootcamp installed the Apple USB modem drivers without a problem and the modem worked perfectly.

You can find the drivers in the following location.

Disc: Mac OS X Install DVD (The one used for installing Bootcamp)

Folder: \Boot Camp\Drivers

Exe: MotorolaSetup.exe

Modem: Motorola SM56 USB Data Fax Modem

Also, you may need to change the compatibility to "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" so it will install properly.

Hope this will help. 🙂
