Iphone wont release Motorola Headphone

Hi,

I have a Motoloa S10 headphone. I have an Iphone 3gs runnining 4.2 When I turn another device on that wants to access the headphone I have to POWER DOWN, not just idle the iphone so it releases the headphones for another device to use.

That doesn't seem to be the case with other devices.

Any suggestions?
