If you do not know the password you will have to place the iPod in recovery mode in order to restore it. See:

mine says disabled connect to itunes. but when i do it says it cant connect because it needs to be unlocked to connect... im confused and dont know whatr to do

Did you place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore via iTunes? My first post providd the link for how to get into recovery mode.
