Copy and Paste and Drag and Drop do not work

My Macbook no longer copy and pastes text or anything else, like when I want to copy a line of text on the internet or in a document, I cannot paste it even when I manually click "Paste" instead of ctrl+v.

Also, I can't drag and drop files and folders from one place to another.

Is there a way to fix this???

I'm having the same problem! It doesn't matter if I try with the command key or if I select from the Edit menu. It appears to copy and even seems to think I've pasted (I can choose Undo Paste from the Edit menu) but, yet, the paste doesn't actually show up.

I googled it and found a suggestion to go to Disk Utilities and repair and then verify disk permissions. This took several minutes and worked for exactly one copy/paste. The next time I tried, no paste. My software is up-to-date.

Any suggestions?

Just found an easy solution on an old thread (missed it first time around). It was from RKaufmann87:

Restart the machine, and do a SMC reset by:

• Shut down the computer.

• Unplug the computer's power cord.

• Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

• Release the power button.

• Attach the computers power cable.

• Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Roger
