Why can't I find Boot Camp 3.0 download?
Has anyone seen a download of Boot Camp 3.0? Not 2.2 or 3.1 just 3.0.
Thanks!

BootCamp 3.0 is part of the Snow Leopard installation disk and is not available separately.

I guess that explains it. Can I copy it to flash drive and load it into windows 7?
You can, or you can just put the disc in the drive while booted to windows and let setup do it's job.
It is really increadible now. I realised I use Boot camp 2.0 and I have audio problem with windows 7. it looks I need to upgrade boot camp 3.2. I downloaded 3,2 to upgrade. message appread I need 3,1 then downloaded 3,1 , it said I need 3.0. then I could not find 3.0 anywhere , I have no disk with me now. It is not downloadable, it's on your disc (and if you lost your disc you'll need to buy another)
It would be nice if Boot Camp Assistant (maybe by the time it reaches 9.0) would download the drivers.
Apple seems oppossed to posting 3.0 or 4.0 or back in 2007 there was 2.0, online. The last time the initial driver package was online was beta back in 2007 with Boot Camp 1.x. Now it always comes from your OS X DVD.
There seems to be a broken feature in Boot Camp ever since 10.6.6 that ASKs if you want to download, but just hangs, does nothing, has never worked for anyone. Maybe they were getting ready for Lion when there is no DVD.
We like you but here to tell you what we know that works or not, that's all.
A spare DVD isn't all bad either.
Hatter,
I have succesfully used the download feature, twice, once for an i5 mbp (owner managed to lose his disks on day 2 of ownership) and once on an mba, that said it took forever and on all other occasions I have attempted the download it failed.
Does that mean it's getting better?
You have to be the example that breaks the rule ;-)
Did not realize, thought someone had left it there over night even and never completed.
So, does it show a progress bar? 1% with 99% left?
Progress bar stayed at zero for the entire time I observed it, I was working on another machine so I left it for about 2 hours, came back expecting to have to use another method, lo & behold it was complete.
But I won't rely on that.
I could not belive it. I have no CD and I do not know any CD place around. I chekc internet there is 2,1, 2.2 then 3.0 is magic(not downloadable) then 3,1 and 3,2. what kind of step? it is amazing. there is upgrade cycle and oen of them is not downloadable. it is not file?? it is something I do not knwo what to say that is not related with data and not downloadable! but work on Mac pro.
is there any one from Apple that give me answer or help?
You can't download it, you will have to find your disk or contact Apple for a replacement or follow the Hatters advice and buy a retail disk, there is no other way that I know of, sorry.
I keep everything in folders and on DMG. I have Windows drive with any installers and updates.
I copied the Windows Boot Camp volume to a folder (950MB I think for Boot Camp 3.0) so I would have it, and have it backed up.
Laptops I can see not having huge multiple hard drives and limited smaller drives and drive space.
No PC vendor would ever do it this way. They include a CD like Apple with any new motherboard with Windows support software.
A mac will run w/o Apple's to some extent, it isn't like you can't. Windows 7 has a wide range of hardware it supports.
You wouldn't have the Apple TimeServices to keep Mac and Windows using different time servers, the data/time are always off.... seems like something is wrong to me there.
No OS Switcher in Windows.
Trouble with internet and wireless is perhaps the hardest.
Getting video graphic device enabled, a bummer.
Dear Hatter, thank you for the detail. but I do not catch your point. 950MB is not a problem what ever inside. I already download 380MB for 3,2 in 5-6 minutes I can wait few minutes more and copy to DVD and solve my problem. I ask Apple to put this file to web side for those that has old boot camp and after upgrading Windows 7 have internal speaker probem to work. 3,2 is soving this problem according to discussion forums.
