Q: I saved a project yesterday using Final Cut Express (saves as .fcp) and now when I try to open the same file to continue editing, it gives an error message saying "This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut". Help?!

I saved a project yesterday using Final Cut Express 4 (saves as .fcp) and now when I try to open the same file to continue editing, it gives an error message saying "This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut". I don't have a clue why this happened and am unsure if this was just an issue when installing FCE4.

Mac OS X (10.6.7)

Make sure you're fully updated to FCE 4.0.1. Run Software Update and install everything relating to the program or ProKit that appears.

This is a very late response skalicki But do you know if the update from FCE 4 to 4.0.1 is available anywhere? I am having the same issue.
