Do metal and aluminum cases degrade verizon iphone 4 signal

Im looking into buying an aluminum case for my iphone but im worried it will degrade my signal, anybody using some form of metal case with their iphones? Particularly with the verizon version. Thanks.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.7

I don't think you want a case made of metal completely. It's proven to degrade signals, Phone, 3G and Wifi. For iPhone 4 and 4S, the Antenna is on the side metal ring, so you definitely don't want to cover those with metal. I understand how guys like their gadgets to be all metal. I'm one of them. I bought this JustCase Metallica case http://www.amazon.com/JustCase-Metallica-Verizon-Brushed-Aluminum/dp/B005LT6T3M, which is made of some synthetic material, but it looks like it's metal.

Thanks for this discussion. I used the Aluminum cases myself and got different results. I agree with FruitNinja that the degradation probably comes from the metallic band on the side of the iPhone being covered in metal cases. I bought the JustCase Metallica case and found no problem.
