I do this all the time on my Samsung TV, so it should be similar to your Bravia. You will need a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adapter to plug into your MacBook Pro. Then, plug an HDMI cable into the end of the adapter, and the other end of the cable into your TV. Change the TV source to the one where your HDMI cable is plugged into (usually HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.), and you should be good to go!

Need to ask a similar question, but this relates to a large size computer monitor. Didn't realize till I got home from Best Buy with a mini display port to VGA adapter, for connecting my MacBook Pro (maybe it's 2 yrs old) to a large size Dell monitor (not a TV), that my MacBook doesn't have a mini display port. Just assumed it did.

Need any thoughts for how to work around this, if there is a way.

Thanks.

What sort of display port do you have? And what ports does the Dell Monitor have? It may well have more than just a VGA port - most monitors now have HDMI as well.

I would assume your Macbook Pro has an HDMI port - looks like a rectangle with rounded corner - on one side of the port there is a set of 7x3 very small square sockets and one set of 2x2 round sockets divided by two flat sockets - look like a horizontal line and a vertical line crossed in the middle. If it is, and your Dell also has an HDMI socket you just need an HDMI cable. If the Dell does not have an HDMI then you need an HDMI to VGA adaptor and a cable. They are all pretty cheap.
