bluetooth in a GMC

I have an iPhone 4 using Verizon and I have a GMC Terrain. Often (NOT always) when making or accepting a call, the Bluetooth defaults to Private Mode and sometimes I can't get it out of Private Mode. I've updated the software on the phone. GM says it Verizon. Verizon says it Apple and Apple says it GM. Any suggestions?

Yep same thing. Here is my post on another thread. I don't have a solution, just sharing misery with you. Come on Apple, get us a fix please.

I am having similar issues. Ver Iphone 4 (4.2.8) and Chevy Equinox LTZ. I have no problems pairing the phone and it syncs bluetooth each and every time I start the car. The really annoying thing is about 50-75% of the time when I make or receive a call through the GM bluetooth system, the called or calling number will briefly show, then change to PRIVATE CALL and wallah, no audio...I can't talk to them, they can't hear me, I cannot use the disconnect button on the steering wheel to disconnect. I have to get the phone out, unlock it, go to phone app (General Motors is checked and it shows to be connected, but) I have to choose audio source and go to Speaker (assuming of course the person on the other end of the line is still there by this time and I haven't swerved into oncoming traffic) then I can talk to them with the speaker, just NOT through the GM system on the car. It is making me very angry that I have "upgraded" to Iphone 4 from Blackberry Tour which worked perfectly, all the time in my car. Been to GM (no bluetooth updates or issues with my car), Verizon (it's clearly an IOS issue and the bluetooth connectivity between phone and car). I was about to go to Apple store, but I think it will be a waste of time.

It sounds like to me I have to just be patient and wait for IOS 4.3 for Verizon Iphone 4 and HOPE that it fixes the problem.

I am certain this is a IOS issue since the wife's Iphone 4, bought at the same time as mine (except hers is white) will display similiar issues with the UConnect in her Chrysler 300C. Most of the time her phone and UConnect will simply not work.

Apple.....Are you listening???????

Same story here. I just upgrade to a Verizon iPhone 4 this week running IOS 4.2.8. My previous phone was an HTC Touch Pro 2 from Sprint. The hands free bluetooth in my 2010 Chevy Silverado worked flawlessly with my HTC phone but not with the iPhone. It will pair without any problem and will initiate and recieve calls. However, once the call is answered, the connection with the truck is dropped but the iPhone still thinks it is connected. I've deleted the pairing information from both the iPhone and truck and re-paired with the same result. I was so excited to get this phone but I never thought I would lose one of the most valued features of a smar phone. My wife has a 2010 Buick and uses a Samsung Instinct phone via bluetooth without any issues. I really hope they fix this soon!

Same here. I have a 2011 Silverado and a brand new Verizon iPhone4 version 4.2.8. Even though my truck dash flashes Bluetooth when I start it, I sometimes make or receive a call and the radio goes silent, the truck indicates a call is in progress, the phone indicates a call is in progress, but I can't hear the call and the person I am "talking" to can't hear me. The only way to hang up is to terminate the call separately on the truck and the phone both. My Blackberry worked flawlessly so I don't believe its the trucks Bluetooth. Unfortunately my phone is issued through my work so I can't get rid of it. This is my first iPhone and I HATE IT!!!!!! Better listen up Apple because as of now I am telling everyone I know NEVER EVER EVER get an iPhone!!!! You'd think with a brand new truck and a brand new phone everything should work perfectly. By the way, a work around is to place a call on your phone then get in the GMC vehicle and start it then let it auto transfer to Bluetooth, this seems to work every time, and it holds the Bluetooth connection until I turn off my truck.
