export settings from ilife to fcp

I want to include an imovie project and an iphoto slide show in a FCP project Im creating. FCP sequence preset is dv ntsc 48kh. If I export from imovie or ilife it creates an m4v file that wont import into fcp. using custom settings share/export quick time/ movie to quick time movie dv/dvcpro ntsc compression creates a quicktime file that imports. but is very poor quality.

How do I export from ilife apps to fcp and retain quality?

thanks im using fcp 5.1.4 ilife 11 and osx 10.6.7 thanks

I've never used those apps but the impression of "poor quality" is usually a simple misunderstanding of how your full screen images are being scaled and smooshed. Whatever format you're starting in, they're going way down to the small screen size 720x480 pixels of video.

You can use your M4v by going through a third party app like ClipWrap, it's free. But the resulting DV is probably going to look exactly like the DV movie you get directly out of you iApps.
