I have a iPhone 3GS and all my contacts are on my phone both personal and business. I need to transfer all of those to my PC so I can transfer them into my new iPad2. However I'm not able to do so, it does not give me the option of transferring my contacts from my iPhone to the PC??? Why???

Is there an easier way?? Also my old laptop, which was my original computer and how I setup my iPhone is no longer, so I transferred all my music, videos and purchases to my new PC which was awesome, however it never gave me the option of transferring contacts...that is so lame-Why????
Install iTunes, plug in the phone, click on the device, then click on Info.
From there make sure sync address book contacts is checked.
Do the same for the iPad.
If that doesn't work, get mobile me and turn on sync'ing.
You could use the app iPhone Contacts Backup, which has the option to export your iPhone contacts as a csv (Excel) file which can then be printed. It also will backup to a vcf file, which can be imported to another iOS device or pc Address Book.
iPhone use NAND memory to store data but SSD, you said using data recoery, that didn't identify iPHone deivc, as long as you backp your iPhone to iTunes, you can use iPhone backup extractor windows to restore contacts from iPhone backup.

Hi, sorry for my late reply. I checked Copytrans Contacts, the program you referred to and it does back up iPhone contacts to the PC directly - ultimately what I was looking for. It is still in beta however and seems a bit basic at first sight, hoping for new features soon..

Step 1. On your iPhone, tap on Settings. On the "Settings" menu, select "iCloud". You will then be taken to the iCloud Settings.
