Put your ipod into DFU (device firmware update) mode----how to do it,
1. turn off your ipod (off, not sleep)
2. hold power and home button together
3. release power button when you see the apple logo (keep holding the home button)
4. keep holding home until itunes comes up with a message saying that the device is in DFU mode and needs to restore.

Now click restore and follow the steps. If you have a back up copy of your ipod, it should automatically restore your music, etc. if not do it manually.
Hope it helps.
