VLC Media Player 3.0.0 can play HLS streams.

With alternate audio tracks too.

But it doesn't work with alternate subtitle tracks.

It can play HLS video tracks encoded with HEVC H265 too.

Apple Quicktime isn't yet ready for HEVC decoding.

Windows 10 has a new Web browser : Edge.

It can play HLS video streams with alternate audio and subtitle tracks.

But it doesn't support properly longtimed movies.

A case in point is the June 6 Apple Special Event http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/11piubpwiqubf06/event/

When I tried to show to my son on Windows 7, Chrome or explorer, it looked like some arty graphics art project with the changed bits layering on the previous bits. I gave it an F. Safari on windows was the most tolerable rendering. Mind you the Mac sometime went into freeze frame mode. I fiddled with the slider to get it to flow again. So if this is related to the above - it is an apple bug vs. my PC problem.
