A huge cluster of pixels on my iPod Touch 3g 32gb spontaneously died. To make matters worse, the devastation of my screen continues to grow larger.

The iPod, whilst turned off, under a halogen spotlight. The cluster is clearly visible.

Looks like a mechanical problem and the only solution would be to have the screen/LCD replaced.
